James Holmes is a British comedian who is known primarily for playing the character of Clive in the series of Miranda.

Main appearancesEdit

  • Mr Holmes has appeared in many West End shows.
  • He first appeared on television in Blue Black Permanent as Fergus in 1992.
  • He also appeared on the The Stand-up Show in 1995, The Office in 1996 (as Doug) and in Comedy Nation (as various characters) in 1998.
  • In the 2000s, we saw him as a receptionist in Rhona (2000), as Derek in Noble and Silver: Get Off Me! (2001), as Rovi Gubelddim in My Hero (2001) and well as various others. Please see "Useful Links" for more.
  • He appeared many times in the The Catherine Tate Show from 2004-2005, as well as in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps in 2006 and also in famous show such as The Bill (2006), TV Burp (2008) Doctors (2008-2010), Coronation Street (2011) and Psychoville (2009-2011).
  • Children may recognise him from Dani's House (2010-2011).
  • Of course, he is most famous for his portrayal of Clive in Miranda (2009-pres.) and will be returning for the third series.
